Funding for Coronation Events
We would like to share a funding opportunity from the National Lottery for All ahead of the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on 6 May at Westminster Abbey.
This is a wonderful opportunity for local groups and organisations to celebrate and enjoy this monumental occasion within Renfrewshire.
Whilst The National Lottery Awards for All does not have a deadline, it can take up to 12 weeks from the point of application to award. Applications for events over the Coronation weekend should therefore be submitted by no later than the middle of February. Further information can be found here: Funding programmes | The National Lottery Community Fund (tnlcommunityfund.org.uk)
There are a couple of initiatives running to celebrate the coronation that your group may want to consider being involved in:
The Coronation Big Lunch: the sister of The Platinum Jubilee Big Lunch, this seeks to celebrate communities, their connections and allow people to establish new friendships. Organised by the Eden Project, more information can be found here: The Big Lunch | Eden Project Communities
The Big Help Out: aimed at providing an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of His Majesty’s service and to highlight the impact of volunteering. It is hoped that the 8 May, the day of the extra bank holiday for the Coronation, will be remembered as a day of donating time and skills to help numerous charities, causes and the vulnerable.
