Be Alcohol Aware This Christmas
2022 has been a landmark year for Recovery in Renfrewshire with a very successful National Recovery Walk, Renfrewshire HSCP formally opening the CIRCLE Recovery Hub and successful alcohol-free events taking place under the banner of ‘Caring & Connected Renfrewshire’.
This has marked the beginning of a period of continuous growth and visibility of recovery in Renfrewshire.
As we are all aware Christmas is fast approaching and gifting a bottle of wine or spirits has been commonplace in many organisations for some time however many people may wish not to drink for a variety if reasons. For some, receiving alcohol might be uncomfortable for them personally or for someone within their household. So, this year, please think about who you are providing a gift to, and consider if alcohol is the most appropriate way to celebrate the festive period.
Should you wish support to implement this or ensure your workplace alcohol practices and policies are up to date and include best practice please contact james.mcsorley@ggc.scot.nhs.uk
Join RIG Arts Park Life! project team for an art walk around Seedhill, Paisley to talk about public space and public art.
Talk about what you like to see on your streets and use our professional DSLR cameras to snap some shots of your favourite spots.
We'll pop on over to Mckerrell Street Play Park to discuss ideas for the park which is set to be developed by Renfrewshire Council over the next couple of years. Do you think it should have more public art? Creative sheltered seating? Shipping containers for community spaces?
The walk will last approximately 1 hr after which we'll head back over to our Community Art Space for warm food and a cuppa.
Please email beth@rigarts.org or click our Eventbrite links to register so that we can make sure we have your warm food ordered!
