Charities can apply for Grants of up to £50,000 per Year to Help Socially Excluded and Disadvantaged People

Charities working to tackle social exclusion and disadvantage can apply for funding from the Bank of Scotland Foundation's Invest programme. The funding ranges from £10,000 to £50,000 per year for a period of 2 to 5 years, aimed at supporting the core expenses of the charities and reducing financial uncertainty during high demand.

The Invest programme has two main themes: Disadvantage and Social Exclusion.

  • Disadvantage covers charities addressing issues such as homelessness, abuse, mental health, and poverty,
  • Social Exclusion covers charities working on exclusionary challenges faced by minorities, people with disabilities, LGBT people, drug users, care leavers, the elderly, and the young.

Charities can apply for support in areas such as project work, core costs, and capital costs. Project work refers to programs that have limited scope and aim to achieve specific outcomes, including funding for project costs, staff costs, and materials. Core costs refer to expenses such as salaries, utilities, and rent, while capital costs refer to expenses such as building projects, repairs, and equipment.

To be eligible for funding, the charity must be registered in Scotland, have an annual income between £50,000 and £1 million, and have 3 years of Annual Returns checked and approved by the OSCR.
