Social Enterprise Week 2023 - Spotlight on Crisis
13/11/2023 (Staff Post - Iain Cunningham )
Main Trading Activity: EAP (Employee Assistance programme) Training & Trauma Consultancy services.
Since 1996, CRISIS has provided one – to - one, family, group and counselling to over 36,000 people. We receive an average of 1500 referrals per year to our headquarters in Erskine, but deploy counsellors across 13 other local authority areas.
We offer specific employee counselling for corporate and community clients, supporting employees who have experienced trauma or who are having trouble adjusting to changes in their everyday lives. These counselling sessions generally result in a reduction to staff turnover, increased productivity, and improved staff morale. We also provide critical incident response and Business Continuity advice.
CRISIS provides placements for counsellors who are undertaking their Diplomas in Counselling. We currently have 93 professional counselling & other therapy volunteers, and out of these, 82 percent are postgraduates. In the 19 and a half years that CRISIS has been running, we have supported the development, and benefitted from the intellectual asset of 540 student therapists from six colleges and universities across Scotland. CRISIS also helps with Continued Professional Development by running in house training courses throughout the year on Community focused topics such as Trauma, Preparation Action & Recovery, Community Resilience, grief, Bereavement & Loss.
