Renfrewshire’s Volunteer Managers’ Forum

Renfrewshire’s Volunteer Manager Forum is an opportunity for all volunteer managers/coordinators in Renfrewshire to share resources and best practice, to network and organise events, to share information and keep updated.

"Hearing other organisations challenges and successes helped me understand we are all facing the same issues!"

“I enjoyed hearing other Volunteer Managers stories of their projects and experiences"

"It helped me understand that everyone is facing similar issues across Renfrewshire, to hear about what is working and what is not"

Celebrating Volunteering

Engage Renfrewshire helps to promote and celebrate volunteers throughout the year but have two main weeks of focus for events & campaigns: Volunteers’ Week in June, and Trustees’ Week in November. We work with our members to promote their good work and provide opportunities to recognise volunteers on a local and national level. If you have a volunteer or trustee you would like to champion or an idea to raise volunteer awareness, get in touch

We also highlight and celebrate volunteers over on our blog, head here to read the latest volunteer blogs

Volunteer Friendly

Youth Volunteering In Renfrewshire

Engage Renfrewshire believe in the power of volunteering for mental, physical and emotional wellbeing, particularly for young people. We are involved in the below initiatives to support and promote youth volunteering across Renfrewshire communities.

Saltire Awards

Saltire Awards is Scottish Government’s national youth volunteer awards. They celebrate, recognise and reward the commitment, contribution and achievements of young volunteers in Scotland, aged between 12 and 25. Young people gain nationally recognised certificates for the different amounts of volunteering they do. You can find out more on the Saltire Awards website.

Engage Renfrewshire is the local Saltire Awards awarding body and as such are committed to showcasing the contributions of young people to volunteering efforts in Renfrewshire. We promote the awards in schools, youth groups, partner organisations, Engage member organisations and via social media. Get in touch with us if you would like to discuss how to get your young volunteers recognised.

YPGuarantee

We are working with Invest in Renfrewshire and other employability partners across Renfrewshire to promote volunteering to school leavers and young people looking to develop their skills, confidence and experience.

The YPGuarantee is a commitment by local employability partners to offer all young people aged 16-24  the opportunity of an apprenticeship, fair employment including work experience, participating in a formal volunteering programme, training or going to university or college. It is a self-referral service which means you do not need to be currently unemployed to access services or be referred by another employability partner (such as the Job Centre).
