Culture & Business Scotland - Building a Better Data Landscape

  30/10/2024

  3pm - 7pm

Culture & Business Scotland and The Audience Agency are partnering to deliver this C&BS Forum looking at how the culture sector can use data to better serve its audiences.

With insights from culture organisations, a GDPR guru and an audience development expert, it’s not to be missed!

Alison MacKinnon, Head of Marketing & Communications at the Citizens Theatre, will join us to talk about the build-up to re-opening the Citz in 2025 following their major redevelopment and how data is key to reigniting relationships old and new with their audiences and stakeholders.

Barbara Burke, Head of Media and External Relations at the National Library of Scotland, will share how they’ve developed their own data collection and used other sources of data to build a rich picture of their existing and potential audiences, and are putting this insight into practice to inform their activities and grow engagement.

Laura Irvine, Managing Partner at Davidson Chalmers Stewart LLP and one of the most prominent data protection lawyers in Scotland, will provide an update on potential forthcoming changes to GDPR legislation you need to know about in relation to your own organisation’s use of personal data.

Ben Jeffries, Head of Scotland at The Audience Agency, will give you an idea of what Scotland’s map looks like from an audience data perspective, as well as give you a flythrough of their free-to-use audience knowledge tools. He’ll also lead on our two panel sessions, giving you the chance to find out more about what you’ve heard and to join the conversation.

Join us at Civic House to learn how a better data landscape can be better for audiences, better for marketing, better for fundraising, and better for Scotland!
