ASOSVO - Strategic Storytelling: How to Connect, Influence & Persuade

  19/08/2025

  10am - 12pm

This session is an opportunity to consider your approach to strategic communications from a leader’s perspective.

Leaders are required to do many things. In these times of limited bandwidth, access and resources, they are increasingly being asked to ‘use their voice’ to gain influence and impact.  But how does this work in an effective, authentic and strategic way?  This session gives leaders an opportunity to reflect on what skills and insights they already have and how they can use their informed perspective to nurture and develop constructive connections with others; how you can communicate with different audiences in a way that ensures they understand, engage and support you and your cause – and perhaps even change their minds.

This session is an opportunity to consider your approach to strategic communications from a leader’s perspective, as well as a time to learn from other leaders who have insights into how they succeed – and occasionally fail – to persuade others to listen, learn and act.  Ishbel will provide insights, tools and learnings from her times as a commercial litigator and her role now as an experienced strategic communications consultant, coach, facilitator and trainer across the third, private and public sectors.

Delegates will gain:

  • A introduction to a framework for persuasive advocacy, equipping leaders to understand and maximise their personal effectiveness when communicating with others.
  • A practical understanding of how storytelling is a communications tool that they can harness in a practical, tactical and personal manner.
  • An opportunity to reflect on their own personal strengths and approach as leaders when connecting, collaborating and convincing others.

We look forward to seeing you there.
