Youai Scotland
Youai Scotland is an unincorporated community group based in Scotland, established to support Chinese students and residents in building a sense of belonging within Scottish communities. We operate under a written constitution agreed by our members, but are not registered as a charity or company.
Our work is volunteer-run and focuses on three main areas: practical support, cultural exchange and peer connection. Through our signature programmes, we create inclusive spaces where Chinese students can contribute, learn and feel at home in Scotland:
Chinese Food Bank — providing familiar food and essentials to students in need
Happy Chinese Classes — informal Mandarin and Chinese culture sessions open to the wider community
VESPA Challenge — a structured challenge-based programme supporting student development and wellbeing
Thrift Shop — a sustainability and community fundraising initiative
We work alongside universities, local community organisations and individual volunteers to deliver activities that benefit both Chinese students and the Scottish communities they live in.
