Renfrewshire Wellbeing Network - September Newsletter
|
Engage Renfrewshire's Community Officer Keely presents on the Mental Health Context of Smoking at the latest Network meeting in Tweedie Hall |
Welcome
Dear Renfrewshire Wellbeing Network,
I hope you are all well!
September 10th was World Suicide Prevention Day, a day to highlight all the ways we can support each other and ourselves when at risk of suicide. Suicide is not something that only happens to certain people, but something we could all face, and also something we can all help prevent.
Suicide prevention can take many more forms than those we might be familiar with: Playing football, going for a walk in nature, cooking together- these are all ways that we together can prevent suicide! And this is why the activities happening in this network are so important.
If you are interested in learning more about how to build skills to support people who are affected by suicide, Engage Renfrewshire have partnered with Scottish Recovery Network to host a free one day workshop on 'Creating Hope Through Peer Support'. Click here for more information and to sign up.
Give this month's newsletter a scroll to not miss any of the events, news, training and funding opportunities from across Renfrewshire.
