Volunteering Focus - 23 October
It feels like the weeks are flying in, and the festive season will be here before we know it. Now’s the time to start planning how you are going to recognise and thank your volunteers for their time and support. Expressing gratitude to volunteers during Christmas can be heartfelt and meaningful, as it's a time of giving. Here are a few ways you can say "thank you" to volunteers in a way that reflects the spirit of the season: Are you planning a get-together? Are you sending them a wee minding? Or keep it simple and send them a Christmas card… get planning now to get ahead of the game!
Join us for the final Volunteer Managers Forum of 2024 where we will be joined by Wendy McBeth from Volunteer Scotland for a Disclosure Act Information session. This session will give you the opportunity to learn about the new legislation and how you can prepare for working with the new Act. They will also provide a chance to ask any questions you may have about the implementation of the Act in 2025, as well as how to work with the current disclosure legislation. Key topics covered include safeguarding, different levels of disclosure checks, and privacy.
