Training

Adult Support & Protection – See Something, Say Something | 14 September
Renfrewshire HSCP is running a free one-hour online session from 12–1pm on Monday 14 September covering types and signs of harm and what to do if you're concerned about an adult at risk.

Renfrewshire HSCP also has two upcoming dementia sessions at Renfrewshire House:

• Behind the Dementia – 2 September, 9:30am–4pm
• Dementia and Distress – 3 September, 9:30am–4pm

They're aimed at people providing care/support to adults affected by dementia and are designed to increase knowledge and confidence in supporting the person and their family.

Events

National Ablepreneurs Day Gathering – Paisley — 16 September at The Wynd Centre. An event celebrating disabled and chronically ill people, with opportunities to meet others, connect and share experiences.

BSL Sign Club & Café – Paisley — A new event beginning 2 September at The Kiln Creative Learning Hub. It runs 6pm–9pm and is open to Deaf people, BSL learners, families and anyone interested in BSL/Deaf culture. Link 

ASN Football – Renfrew Leisure Centre — St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation is running football sessions for adults aged 16+ with additional support needs, on selected dates from 26 August–9 October 2026.

The Sunflower is a discreet way of indicating that someone has a non-visible disability and may need a little more time, patience or assistance.

CEA Cinema Card
Eligible disabled cinema-goers can get a complimentary ticket for someone accompanying them to participating cinemas.
