Social Enterprise News 

  • Now open / Ambitions 2024 Programme – This Leadership programme delivered by Social Investment Scotland is now open and accepting applications for its next cohort (commencing May 2024).  There are two cohorts planned: Step Up and Scale Up.  Click on the link to watch the information video.  Applications to participate should be submitted by 05 April 2024.
  • Boots Charitable Trust – ‘The Trust funds charities and voluntary organisations working in the areas of health, lifelong learning, community development and social care, and encourages applications from organisations where our grants of up to £10,000 can make the biggest impact’.  Q4 funding window opens 01 May and closes 31 May 2024.

 

Procurement Made Simple

Procurement made simple, Community wealth building on-line event.

Public procurement in a Community Wealth Building framework, and it will take place online on Tuesday 12 March (1.30-2.30pm). More info and registration HERE.

On the day you will hear from:

  • Alastair Dobson, Managing Director of Taste or Arran and Arran Diaries and Chair of the Ayrshire Regional Economic Strategy Working Group will share ideas about how procurement could be made simple.
  • Bryce Cunningham, Change Maker and Director at the award winning Mossgiel Farm will talk about his experiences, including challenges and opportunities, of public procurement in a Community Wealth Building local area.

The event is free.

 

RenSEN Nework Meeting

  • 06 March – Huts and Hutting – A webinar from Community Woodland Association.
  • 19 March – An introduction to social investment – In this one-hour session, Social Investment Scotland will take you through what social investment, who social investment for and how it can help your organisation. 
  • 20 March – Networking to open doors – A networking event for SCVO members taking place at Dovecot Studios, Edinburgh
  • Commencing 21 March – Introduction to Chayn’s online trauma support service (Third Sector Lab) – A two-part webinar ‘designed to support gender-based violence organisations to apply learning and elements from Bloom to their own work’.
  • 28 March - Volunteer Scotland’s information session on Investing in Volunteers (IiV) – Investing in Volunteers is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.
  • 16 May – All-Energy 2024 – This two-day event at the SEC provides an opportunity to meet, network and make connections with the renewable energy community with two days of uninterrupted business. As part of the event there will be a ‘Community and Local Energy Show’ which is free to attend and will cover topics including community owned projects, decarbonising community buildings, and community owned generation.
