Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Scheme
The Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Scheme is a free, national initiative supported by the Scottish Government and delivered by local health boards. It aims to raise awareness of the rights and responsibilities surrounding breastfeeding in public spaces, helping both businesses and families feel informed and supported.

How to register
All staff and volunteers would complete a short training presentation that outlines the legal protections for breastfeeding in Scotland. Once this training is completed, your service will receive official Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland signage to display. This signage reassures families that your staff understand the law and that breastfeeding is welcomed in your setting and they would never be asked to move, cover up, or directed to the toilets to feed.
Registered services are also added to a live Google Map showcasing all Breastfeeding Friendly locations in the area.
