Engage Update - 17 November

Renfrewshire CYP cross-sector forum meeting

17 December 2025 at 10am

This meeting is open to all third sector groups working with families and children in Renfrewshire. As this network has not met for some time, and conscious of new groups as well as staff and role changes etc, we ask that all attendees sign up via Eventbrite so we can update records. Please feel free to pass this email to the most appropriate member of staff in your organisation.

The main discussion point for the meeting will be a presentation from Annie Torrance, Senior Policy Officer (People) at Renfrewshire Council's Chief Executive Service who is conducting Renfrewshire's Children Services Partnership's Joint Strategic Needs Assessment. Annie would like to hear from as many third sector service providers as possible to understand current need and levels of service across the area.

Renfrewshire HSCP Chief Officer's Weekly Vlog

Up until now, these updates have been shared with HSCP staff and related groups, including IJB Members. Moving forward, I’m happy to let you know that our distribution list now includes contacts from the third and private sectors.

A warm welcome to all our new viewers!

If you have any feedback on this video or ideas for future topics, I’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch or email:HSCPcommunications@renfrewshire.gov.uk

In this week’s Vlog, I talk about:

  • A positive meeting I had with third sector colleagues where we talked about how we can help support people in our communities.
  • The upcoming NHSGGC System Reset, which is scheduled to begin on 20 November.
  • My regular thanks to staff for their great work. This week I mention some feedback received about our Podiatry colleagues.

I hope you enjoy this week’s update…

Loud n Proud

We've been quiet recently but we are about to get a lot noisier. Loud n Proud is open for tours and advice on all things music. We will be open from 10am to 2pm for 3 Saturdays on 15, 22 and 29 November. If you want to learn, play in a band, get music production or record a track or an album - see you at The Kerr Building

After 2 years of building and repairing we are now looking for new students who want to learn an instrument, play in a band, record, write songs and play live. The studios are all professional industry standard and we cater for all mages.

The exhibition presents the cause and context of the Palestinian experience with a focus on the land, the place and the people. It provides a glimpse into the arts and culture, historical locations and heritage to look behind the curtain of war and conquest by narrating stories to contextualise Gaza within Palestine, the region and the world. The exhibition includes printed images of work by Malak Mattar, the first Palestinian artist to have a solo show at London's prestigious Central Saint Martins.

Free entry. Donations welcome for MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians)
