Renfrewshire People Invited to Share Their Views on the Future of Local Health and Social Care Services
People across Renfrewshire are invited to share their views on the current challenges facing health and social care services locally - and on how the Integration Joint Board (IJB), the body that oversees related services, can address its budget gap.
The survey is now available until Friday 25 October. It will be available online, with paper versions and additional support available at various locations to assist those who may be less comfortable completing the form. Details of where you will be able to find paper copies and can access support to complete the survey will be updated on the HSCP Engagement web page.

Stroke Association
New campaign on TV, social media and in the news - Finding Strength through Support
As you may know, the Stroke Association has launched a new campaign on TV, social media, and in the news. It's designed to raise awareness of the effects of stroke and help us reach more survivors who need our support.
We'd love for you to take a look at the advert. It's hard-hitting and emotive, reflecting the reality of stroke. stroke.org.uk/strength
The action takes place in a hospital setting, when the patient and their families/carers are beginning to come to terms with the reality of life post-stroke. This is in response to our public research, which identified a lack of awareness of the long recovery journey after stroke and the role that the Stroke Association can play in supporting that.
In Scotland we do not provide support to stroke survivors in hospital, but we do have a package of free support that is available to anyone in Scotland affected by stroke. You can find out more at www.stroke.org.uk/scotland
Please help us to spread the word by sharing our new campaign on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and TikTok . Every like, comment, and share will help more people to see this important message. With your help, we can be there for every stroke survivor during their long and difficult recovery journey.
So far, the response has been incredibly positive, so we also wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has shared their thoughts or shared the TV advert. It truly means a lot.
The effects of stroke are catastrophic, and survivors tell us how important it is to show this reality. We are here if you need support. Visit our website to find links to support services such as our Stroke Support Helpline, peer support groups, and our online community.
You can also discover more about the real life stroke survivors that inspired the TV advert, and how their recoveries have been going. Visit our website to learn more.
Thank you for your time. The more eyes on our campaign, the easier it will be for us to provide support to stroke survivors so they can make their best possible recovery.

VIAS Update
Easy Read + Health Conference Information
Easy Read is the best form of accessible information for people with learning disabilities and autism. It uses simplified language as well as pictures to help people with learning disabilities and autism understand information. It is very helpful for disabled people who might struggle to understand information otherwise. It is also useful for people who do not speak English as a first language or are hard of seeing. Under the Equalities Act Easy Read supports reasonable adaptations, opening up organisations to a wider audience. We are holding an Easy Read Basics training course on the 06 November from 10am to 4pm. By the end of this CPD certified course, you will understand easy read guidelines and the law in relation to accessible information, know how to use words and pictures in an easy read format, have created a simple easy read document, and empower people with disabilities to make choices more independently with accessible information. Get in touch by phoning us on 0141 212 3395 or email us at info@viascotland.org.uk to register your interest today!
