Consultation on the HSCP's Strategic Plan
A Strategic Plan is a legal requirement for the HSCP's Integration Joint Board (IJB) - but it is also the HSCP's main vehicle for describing and measuring the actions they will take to ensure delivery of the best services for the people of Renfrewshire with the resources available.
Throughout the period of the most recent Strategic Plan, the health and social care sector has faced an extremely challenging financial landscape. This was, and continues to be, due to increasing demand for health and social care services, an ageing population and higher costs across the country.
Therefore, rather than developing a completely new Strategic Plan within such a turbulent period, what follows at the link is a drafted refresh of the current Strategic Plan for a further two years.
A copy of the draft Plan and all information on how to respond to the consultation can be found on the following page: https://www.renfrewshire.hscp.scot/shareyourviews

Bowel Cancer Awareness Month
April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, a fantastic annual opportunity to raise awareness of bowel cancer, the fourth most common cancer in Scotland.
The earlier bowel cancer is spotted, the more treatable it’s likely to be. In fact, more than 9 in 10 people survive bowel cancer when it is diagnosed at the earliest stage.
Why not get involved this April and help spread the word:
- Join one of our free online awareness talks delivered by a volunteer with a personal experience of bowel cancer. Learn about the symptoms of bowel cancer, risk factors and the NHS bowel screening programme.
- Use our social media toolkit to share important information about bowel cancer. The toolkit includes social media graphics, videos and suggested copy.
- Become a Bowel Cancer Awareness Champion and help us distribute information about the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer in your local community. No long-term commitment required – just a little bit of time and local knowledge.
For more information about bowel cancer and details of how to get involved during Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, visit bowelcanceruk.org.uk/bowel-cancer-awareness-month
The pneumococcal vaccine provides some protection against illnesses such as bronchitis, pneumonia or septicaemia. If you’re eligible, you’ll be contacted with your appointment details. For more information visit nhsinform.scot/pneumococcalvaccine
