Mental Health First Aid

Engage Renfrewshire are excited to offer additional dates of Mental Health First Aid training sessions, exclusively for Third Sector organisations with activities in Renfrewshire.

This one-day certified course, normally valued at over £200 per person, is designed to build your team’s confidence in recognising and responding to mental health challenges, and provides participants with an SCQF level 5 certificate valid for 3 years.

For many groups, especially those newly working toward mental health outcomes, this course offers a strong, practical foundation. Whether you're running social activities, family groups or wellbeing projects, it will help your team to understand key mental health issues, recognise signs of common conditions and respond confidently to people in distress.

It’s especially useful for staff and volunteers without formal training, who are now supporting people where mental health is an important factor.

Up to four staff/volunteers are free for each group - others may be put on the waiting list.

Please ensure you register each individual participant separately to ensure accurate attendance and certification.

If you book and are unable to attend please let us know as soon as possible to allow others to attend.

Climate Week Toolkit and Community Action

Scotland’s Climate Week is coming – and here's everything your organisation needs to get involved.

From 29 September to 5 October, Scotland’s Climate Week will spotlight how organisations and communities across Scotland are working together to build a climate ready future. Whether it’s through local partnerships, staff engagement, or implementing sustainable practices — your organisation can play a key role in driving action.

CLIMATE READY TOGETHER: ACTION IN EVERY COMMUNITY

This year, we’re highlighting the practical steps being taken across Scotland to support sustainability and climate resilience. Businesses and organisations are central to this movement—leading by example, supporting communities, and helping normalise climate-positive behaviours.

Here’s How Your Organisation Can Get Involved

  1. Use the Climate Week toolkit – featuring social media assets and copyWhatsApp templates, and editorial content for emails, intranets, and blogs.  These can help you to share your organisation’s commitment and encourage others to take action.
  2. Reshare Net Zero Scotland content on FacebookLinkedInX and Instagram to help amplify the message and drive collective action. You can also download our social content calendar to help plan and schedule your posts.
  3. Encourage everyday climate-positive behaviours – like reducing energy use, choosing active or public transport, cutting food waste, and switching off vehicle engines when stationary. These simple actions help lower emissions and build healthier, more sustainable communities.
  4. Use #ScotClimateWeek and #LetsDoNetZero to connect with others and showcase your organisation’s role in building a climate-ready Scotland.
  5. Share your sustainability story with us—we can help amplify it, connect you with others, and grow the movement for change.

MS Awareness Training

MS-UK are delighted to offer free MS awareness training sessions for professionals and volunteers.

Why should your team attend this session?

MS is the most common disabling neurological condition in working-aged adults, affecting over 150,000 people in the UK. In addition to physical challenges like mobility, balance, and strength, many people with MS experience invisible symptoms such as fatigue, bladder or bowel issues, and cognitive difficulties. These can impact daily living, employment, and overall wellbeing.

Professionals play a crucial role in supporting those with MS. MS-UK is here to help increase your team’s understanding of the condition and the support available to the MS community.

What will you learn?

This session will be delivered by an MS-UK team member, alongside a volunteer with lived experience of MS.

  • What is MS?
  • Myths and preconceptions
  • Symptoms that may impact on wellbeing
  • A lived experience of MS
  • Symptom management tips
  • The kind of support that people with MS may need on their MS journey
