It’s an exciting time to be part of Scottish Huntington’s Association with the implementation of Standing Tall: A Strategy For Growth 2023 – 28 to transform the care and support of Huntington’s families, expand services, raise awareness and deepen our involvement and support for world-leading research and clinical trials. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated to have a positive influence on the quality of life of the individuals and families they support. This role is open to medical and health and social care staff from backgrounds such as nursing, allied health, social work and medicine. Professional body membership is essential. Previous experience of Huntington’s disease is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided. Closing date 14th August


Leap Project
PT Larder Team Leader (Contract)
Lochwinnoch Community Larder is one of the busiest community pantries in Scotland. We operate on dignified food principles, working to tackle the climate emergency through distribution of food which is otherwise destined for landfill, and food we grow ourselves locally. We are also addressing food insecurity for a wide rural population.
This role is a brilliant opportunity to join a friendly team and work within the heart of an active rural community. It is a physical role which will require some lifting and periods of time spent on your feet. The location for the project is within a vibrant social garden space which is also home to other community projects and our own food growing site.

PT Supervisor (Contract)
Granny Mutch is a charity shop and community space based in the heart of Lochwinnoch. We launched this project in May 2026 and it has already become a social hub offering affordable items and keeping quality goods out of landfill. It also generates income which goes back into our other charitable projects which include Lochwinnoch Community Larder, Diggin’ It Seed Libraries and Lochwinnoch Feel Good Festival. This role is a brilliant opportunity to join a friendly team at an exciting stage of development. The role will involve some lifting and require periods of time where you will be standing while on-shift. You will be supervising a Team of volunteers and working directly with the public.

Barnado's B'Inspired programme August start

We are currently recruiting for our upcoming B’Inspired programme.
 
This is specifically for care experienced young people and young people that are on (or have been on) diversion.
 
16-24 year old Renfrewshire residents, not in employment or education
 
12 weeks with a £24 per week training allowance.
 
Basic Structure:

• 1 week of one to one support
• 5 weeks of groupwork (2 sessions per week), 1 day employability training, 1 day off site working towards the John Muir award.
• 4 weeks of work tasters (2 days per week)
• 2 weeks of one to ones to secure a positive destination. 

The start date is Monday the 24 August.
 
Referrals can be made to myself, all that is required is a name and contact information, I will then reach out to the young person and arrange to meet with them.

Barnado's STEP2WORK

An employability programme that will run 4 days per week, Mon-Thurs for 8 weeks, with 4 weeks in house employability training followed by a 3-week voluntary work placement which will be approximately 20 hours a week (3 days a week) and then a return of 1 week in house, end of programme group sessions and next steps support…
 
Aimed for young people who are;

• 16-24yrs.
• Have a Renfrewshire postcode.
• Close to or work ready.
• Willing and able to undertake a 3-week work placement with an employer within their wanted industry and possibly out with their number one career choice (aim to gain transferable skills, build upon confidence, additional work experience for CV etc.)
• Need to be willing to work within peer group of up to 10 young people.
• Need to be confident in using public transport routes.
• Need to be available for a pre-programme meeting on either Mon 07Sep, Tues 08 Sep or Wed 09 Sep.

If you’re supporting a young person who you feel would benefit from engaging in this programme, we ask all referrers to send over the young person’s full name, best contact number, age, and what career interests the young person has to myself please. I will then contact the young person to arrange a pre-programme meeting at our training centre.
