Our free programme is designed to help 18 – 30-year-olds in Scotland who aspire to start and run their own business! We offer expert-led training, 1 – to – 1 support, funding opportunities, and mentor support for our young people to get them ready to launch a business. Springboard Programme - Autumn 2025

  

 

 

START DATE: Monday 11 August
AGE: 16+
LOCATION : Glasgow – still TBC
5-week programme, followed by a 1-week work placement.
The programme is 4 days a week with 3 days face to face and the other via Microsoft teams
 
The course is ideal for person seeking any role within hospitality. However, please note that if they are interested in bartending, there will be no cocktail sessions, though they will still have the opportunity to take the personal bar licence exam.
Due to their being no cocktail sessions or alcoholic beverages included during the practical days, this course would also be suitable for individuals who cannot work with or be around alcohol.
 
  
Trainees can:

  • Gain qualifications in SCPLH - personal bar license, Customer Service and Food Safety Level 2, so all great qualifications to have on their cv and get them to the top of the ladder for interviews.
  • Career chats from guest speakers -people within the industry.
  • Venue visits - see the operation of a venue and hear about all the opportunities in Hospitality.
  • Practical days – food presentation, tray and plate carrying, taking orders, customer service and more.
  • Pre-employability session such as Confidence building, CV and Cover letters, Teamwork, Interview sessions, including practice with mock interviews, Job search sessions, and more.
  • Online training modules which include Food Safety Level 2, Health & Safety Level 2, Food Allergens, Coffee, and many more

  
As there are Online modules and Teams sessions on this course - persons must have a device they can access to complete these sessions
