Erskine Arts - Board Opportunity: We are seeking a Treasurer to guide our financial strategy

With our ever-expanding programme, Erskine Arts is seeking a qualified finance or accounting professional to join our Board of Trustees as Treasurer.

This is a key leadership role where you will work directly alongside the Managing Director to guide our financial governance and support our next chapter of growth.

About Erskine Arts

We are a registered charity supported by over 50 registered public members, driven by a dedicated team of full-time and part-time staff. We run a vibrant, multi-faceted creative organisation that includes:

  • Weekly Creative Classes: Music, art, and creative workshops for adults and children.
  • Targeted Wellbeing Programmes: Tailored support for individuals with additional support needs, those facing barriers to creative engagement, neurodiverse parent groups, and pre-school families.
  • Box Office and Public Events: Live music, cinema, comedy, literature, and community events, alongside expanding our hall hire offer for the general public.
  • Diverse Income Streams: Media and film hire activity, external event hire, charitable donations, fundraising events, and an emerging corporate sponsorship model.
  • Capital Projects and Lease Assets: Active capital projects including a Town Centre Capital Fund for interior renovations, alongside ongoing lease agreements with Renfrewshire Council covering our venue space, community garden, COVID memorial bench, and sensory garden space.

The Role

  • We are looking for someone with robust financial acumen to provide strategic financial oversight across our organisation. Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering financial updates and reporting at our bi-monthly board meetings, ensuring full transparency and peace of mind for the board.
  • Working closely with the Managing Director to review budgets, cash flow forecasting, and future financial projections, while providing advice to support ongoing business planning.
  • Ensuring our financial practices, control procedures, and reporting systems remain robust and compliant.
  • Providing oversight across multiple budgets and diverse revenue streams spanning box office, venue activities, grants, capital funding, and corporate support.

About You

You should have a strong background in finance or accounting, with proven experience managing complex income structures. You must have the confidence and capacity to take ownership of presenting financial updates at board meetings. Familiarity with Xero accounting software is advantageous, though not essential.

Time Commitment

  • Board Meetings: Attendance and financial reporting at board meetings six times a year (every two months) on Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
  • Working Sessions: Additional time will be required between meetings to collaborate directly with the Managing Director, reviewing budgets, cash flow, and projections ahead of board reports.

How to Apply

If you have the skills to turn numbers into impact and want to help guide our strategic direction, we would love to hear from you.

Please reply directly to this email with a brief summary of your background, contact the team at info@erskinearts.co.uk, or reach out to me directly on the number below for an informal chat about the role.
