Jacki qualified as a nurse in 1990 and worked as a hands on nurse in critical care settings until she moved in to management type roles in 2005. Jacki has had a varied career since then and has worked in local hospital care for adults and children, she spent 5 years working nationally in Healthcare Improvement Scotland learning the quality improvement trade and specifically working in their Scottish Health Council who supported NHS Scotland to engage with patients, the public and the charity sector.

Following this she worked as General Manager for Surgical Services in the Clyde sector of NHS GG&C - driving quality and patient experience. Jacki is a passionate advocate for ensuring people are at the centre of their care. She was nominated as a trustee to the Accord Board of Directors and when the opportunity to be considered as the next CEO of the charity emerged, she grasped it with both hands! Jacki is working with the Accord team to maintain the excellence in care already delivered and to perhaps explore opportunities to support Accord and the broader palliative and end of life care world to expand their reach while protecting the quality that the Hospice is renowned for.
