A social enterprise is another way of doing business. A business that can be sustainable and viable, but also a business that can make a difference.  In making a difference, social enterprises are challenged to be impactful and deliver measurable social impacts to people, communities, and the wider Scotland environment.

When looking at starting any social enterprise, accurately defining and measuring social impact is essential, especially if looking to secure funding, but also in confirming to yourself that you are indeed making the difference you wanted to.

This workshop is designed to clarify some of the myths and inaccuracies around social impact. It will guide you to understand what funders are looking for, but also what you should aspire to achieve. The workshop will aim to cover:

  • What does social impact mean?
  • Defining YOUR social impact
  • How do you deliver social impact?
  • Measuring social impact
  • Developing a measurement plan

This session will be a mixture of information, discussion, and practical exercises. The aim is that by the end of the workshop, you will have a clear strategy of how you intend to deliver and measure the social impacts of your social enterprise.

The session will be delivered by Fiona Ellis, the founder of Àrrivo Consulting. Fiona provides consultancy support and guidance to many third sector organisations and the wider social economy.
