Engage Renfrewshire - Renfrewshire Employability: better understand local employability initiatives and what they offer young people

In Renfrewshire there are currently 1,035 young people seeking employment . Numbers were at 1,505 in August 2020 compared with 810 in August 2019. While it's easy to see that COVID has had a significant impact on youth unemployment, in Renfrewshire we have also seen the highest decrease in youth unemployment thanks to implemented measures and effective partnership working. But there is still more to do.
You are invited to attend a one hour session on Wednesday 27 Oct at 11am-12pm on Teams, aimed at anyone delivering services for young people, employability practitioners and business leaders. You will hear from Invest and Engage about what’s available, when and for whom. We’ll cover:
• Young Person’s Guarantee (YPG) employer incentive scheme
• YPG portal
• YPG volunteering
• Saltire Awards
You’ll gain a better understanding of each of the current programmes, what they offer and how to get involved. Plus there’ll be an opportunity to ask questions of your own.
