Get Safe Online

Get Safe Online, one of the world’s leading online safety resources with a presence in the UK and 25 other countries, has launched its new Self Help Tool Centre. Hosted on www.getsafeonline.org, this new resource aims to help individuals and small businesses protect themselves from online scams.

Key Features:

  • One-Stop Resource: The Self Help Tool Centre consolidates nine easy-to-use, free tools for online safety.
  • Comprehensive Protection: Tools cover protection for family, finances, devices, and workplace.
  • User-Friendly: Designed for both the public and small businesses
  • Photo Cloning Check: Verify if a photo has been cloned.
  • Company Verification: Check if a company is genuine.
  • Data Breach Check: Find out if you have been a victim of a data breach.
  • Password Storage Guidance: Learn effective ways to store passwords.
  • Social Media Oversharing Check: Investigate if you are oversharing on social media.

The centre also integrates the popular Check a Website feature, which allows users to verify the legitimacy of websites. This tool has received 660,000 hits in the UK from January to March 2024 and over 750,000 hits globally in the past year.

Kairos Kitchen's Refugee Festival Celebration

Thursday 20 June 6-8pm at the Hub, Mile End Mill, 12 Seedhill Road Paisley PA1 1JS

This year's Refugee Festival Scotland theme is 'rise'. Join us for a jam-packed evening of food, conversation and performances that will celebrate New Scot refugees rising above! Kairos Kitchen will be cooking up a delicious vegetarian meal served up with some sides from a local restaurant.

This event is open to all, please share around your networks - everyone welcome for this exciting celebration! We are fundraising for the future of the Kairos Kitchen project, so please pay for a ticket if you can afford to.
