Engage Update - 16 October

New £1.5million fund opens for community groups in Renfrewshire

Local community groups can now apply for a share of £1.5million for innovative, sustainable projects that will enhance where they live.

Renfrewshire Council have created the Sustainable Communities Fund by bringing together the Community Empowerment Fund and Climate Change Action Fund, boosted by £650,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund – Communities and Place, into one easy-to-access funding stream.

It will support community collaboration with the aim of regenerating local spaces, tackling climate change, and reducing inequalities, such as isolation, food insecurity, healthy eating, health inequalities and fuel poverty.

Constituted community groups can apply for up to £10,000, £10-25,000 or up to £100,000 in either capital or revenue funding for their project depending on its size and scale which will allow both small- and large-scale projects to be considered, and council officers are available to provide advice and support to all applicants.
