Engage Update - 10 June

We are pleased to inform you that we have now re-opened the RAMH Counselling intervention to new referrals from Friday 07 June 2024 to Adults aged over 16 in Renfrewshire who identify as experiencing challenges in their mental health.

What is RAMH Counselling?

The Service will include:

  • Assessments of risk and needs; provided initially by telephone assessment or face to face. The assessment will include sharing electronic self-help information sent following assessment where appropriate.
  • Hybrid delivery of counselling interventions; e.g. telephone or face to face and or online platforms, as agreed between the practitioner and the service user. Good attendance is required and 48 hours’ notice of cancellation must be given.
  • Signposting to relevant support services; Where appropriate, at assessment, if it is felt that another support or intervention is more suitable then we would assist in signposting to the agreed service.
  • Model of Service Delivery; The service will continue to use a brief 6 session model, using “CORE 10” to show a reliable change in the psychological distress for service users. This model is suitable for mild to moderate mental health issues. The service will ensure as short a wait possible by robust waiting list management, including an opt in process.
  • Service delivery will reflect the learning of the pandemic and offer a hybrid model; this will include face to face, alongside telephone and video platforms being used as a way to deliver counselling.

Should you have any questions then do not hesitate to contact us on 0141 404 7788 where we can give you information not only on our counselling services but also of the other supports and interventions that RCS will continue to offer ranging from; courses and group inputs, support around anxiety management and self-esteem to social groups and physical activity.

Measuring Digital Inclusion Impact in Renfrewshire

Latest figures from The Good Things Foundation, highlighted that around 8.5 million people in the UK lack the basic digital skills, 2.4 million households can’t afford their mobile phone contract and 1.5 million people don’t have a smartphone, tablet or a laptop.

However, evidence also shows that Digital Inclusion benefits £13.7 billion to the economy, 76% of people say the internet helps them connect with family and friends, 68% can use online tools to help them manage their health and people with high digital engagement save on average £900 more a year, making them better off.

Digital Exclusion can impact anyone at any time of their life and requires a collective effort by everyone if we are to effectively tackle this issue.

This short survey will help to measure the collective impact of Digital Inclusion activity across Renfrewshire during 2023-2024.
Please only provide details for the period 01 April 2023 - 31 March 2024 for Renfrewshire.
