Hello

This week there is a great opportunity for those working with older adults from the Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, this is open to community groups, as well as larger organisations. There is also a rare opportunity for individual funding for musicians to support career development from Help Musicians

For groups supporting children and families, the Corra Foundation has an opportunity where Unconstituted groups can apply for up to £1,500.

Animal Welfare

Grants to Support Animal Welfare Charities
Charities registered in the UK that are working to offer sanctuary, rehoming, and rehabilitation to animals in the UK and/or internationally can apply for grants of up to £35,000. Organisations involved with wildlife conservation, the rescue, rehabilitation and (where possible) release of animals are also eligible to apply. The funding supports general running costs or capital purchases. The Trust encourages repeat applications from charities when further financial support might be given if funds allow. The funding is being made available through the Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust, and the next application closing date is 01 September 2024.  Find out more

 

Children & Families

Boost Small Grants fund is now open for applications
This fund is for local community organisations across Scotland supporting children and families affected by poverty. The work you are doing might be about providing practical help, or organising activities and gatherings, or addressing another local need. 

Boost Small Grants will provide grants of £500-£3,000 to constituted groups and charities with an annual income of £50,000 or less. Unconstituted groups can apply for grants of between £250-£1,500. There is £225,000 available to distribute, and we anticipate making approximately 80-120 grants. There is no closing date. When all funding has been distributed, the programme will close for this year.

Churches

Grants for Urgent Maintenance Works & Small Repairs to Churches
Grants of between £500 and £5,000 (exceptionally up to £10,000)are available to churches across the UK requiring urgent maintenance works and small repairs identified as high priority within a recent Quinquennial Inspection, Building Survey or Condition Report.. The funding will enable listed and unlisted Christian places of worship, of any denomination, to investigate or address small problems and control building deterioration. This could include improvements to rainwater systems, removing vegetation growth from buildings, replacing gutter systems, addressing lost, damaged or slipped roof tiles, internal repairs to ceilings and walls, and electrical work. Project costs should be up to £20,000 incl. VAT and awards will never exceed 50% of the costs. The funding is made available through the National Churches Trust Small Grants Programme, which will accept applications until midnight on the 30 June 2024Find out more

 

Employment

Grants of up to £5,000 Available to Increase Employment Opportunities for Disadvantaged Adults 
Grants of up to £5,000 are available to registered charities to support projects that equip people (18 or older in order) from disadvantaged groups with the critical life skills necessary to gain employment. Priority will be given to projects that target people experiencing multiple deprivation or other groups facing major hurdles to employment, especially women, people with physical, mental, or learning disabilities, refugees and asylum seekers. The funding is being made available through the Thomas Wall Trust and the deadline for stage 1 applications is the 16 September 2024.  Applicants successful at this stage will be invited to submit a stage 2 application. Find out more

 

Music

Help Musicians | Develop your career 
Grants of up to £500 will soon be available to support UK musicians at pivotal stages in their career. The Help Musicians Fast Track Awards programme aims to help musicians grow or sustain their income, or participate in something that could take their career to the next level. The funding can go towards anything from courses, networking opportunities and equipment to recording, releasing and performing costs. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 and over, have no more than £10,000 in savings or access to other capital, and have a track record of making 40% of their income from music over the last two or more years. The fund will open to applications on 20 May 2024 and close on 07June 2024Find out more

 

Net Zero 

£750,000 Fund to Help Tackle Growing Household Electrical Waste
£750,000 in funding is available for projects that make it easier for UK householders to reuse and recycle their electrical goods. Material Focus’ Electricals Recycling Fund will award grants of up to £100,000 for projects seeking to grow or develop existing household waste and recycling collection services for small household electricals, and grants of up to £50,000 for projects that seek to innovate new collection methods. Applications are sought from a range of organisations including local authorities, waste collection authority areas, contractors, reuse organisations, not-for-profits, community sector organisations, producer compliance schemes, retailers and start-ups. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Find out more

King Charles III Charitable Fund Launches New Funding Round
The King Charles III Charitable Fund has launched a new funding round of its Small Grants Programme to support projects that will improve people’s lives and build sustainable communities across the UK. The fund will allocate up to £5,000 in grants to around 100 community-based organisations, including charities, community interest companies, and parish councils each year. The fund aims to support small-scale projects that can potentially create substantial impacts within their communities, especially those that typically face challenges accessing larger funding sources. In this funding round, the Fund will be accepting applications from organisations for projects / activities relating to the environment and countryside. The closing date for applications is 12 noon on 15 May 2024.  Find out more

 

Older Adults

Grants of up to £2,000 for Projects Tackling Loneliness Amongst Older People and Adults with a Disability
Grants of up to £2,500 are available to charitable organisations for projects that tackle loneliness amongst older people and adults with a disability. The funding which is being made available through the Barchester’s Charitable Foundation offers these grants to support projects that connect or re-connect people with others in their local community. This could include activity projects, equipment and materials, member transport, and day trips. The foundation also offers grants of up to £1,000 to help individuals with mobility issues. Grants can be used to purchase wheelchairs, scooters, bikes, or car adaptations. There are no deadlines and applications can be submitted at any time. Find out more

 

Schools 

Funding to Help Kickstart School Projects
Grants of up to £500 are available to schools and educational organisations across the UK seeking funding to kickstart projects that will benefit their students. The Twinkl Community Collection Prize Draw will help fund any project, such as setting up a breakfast club, resourcing after-school activities, purchasing new playground equipment, upgrading an ICT suite, or kickstarting big projects. The fund opens to applications every half term, and applications should be submitted by a member of the Senior Leadership Team on behalf of the school. Prize winners will be chosen randomly from all qualifying entries within thirty days following each closing date. One or more winners will be drawn in each draw at the discretion of the prize giver. Funding for School Climate & Biodiversity Projects
Primary and secondary schools in the UK can apply for grants of up to £3,000 to support projects and activities addressing climate change and biodiversity issues. The funding is being made available through the Royal Society’s Tomorrow's Climate Scientists Programme and is an extension of the Society's Partnership Grants Programme. The primary purpose of the funding is to facilitate the purchase of necessary equipment for these projects. The Partnership Grants scheme operates annually and follows a two-stage application process. There are three possible submission deadlines this year and the next deadline for stage 1 and stage 2 applications is 01 July 2024. Find out more
