Updated Report from the Child Poverty Action Group in Scotland outlines:

THE COST OF LEARNING IN LOCKDOWN

The update highlights continuing challenges for families on low incomes and further action needed

A new report from the Cost of the School Day project shows that concern about money is higher than last year for families on low incomes and many still lack the resources needed for remote learning in the months ahead.

Call for real life examples:
good communication about costs and money in your schools

Next term, the Child Poverty Action Group in Scotland are
releasing a new Talking about Costs and Money resource package for schools based on their research with 2000 parents and carers across Scotland.

Following the success of a 2 year contract between Crowdfunder and LEADER to implement Crowdfund Scotland, a further 5 months of support has been made available until the end of July to projects who would like to engage with this method of funding.

Community groups and businesses across rural Scotland have raised over £1.2 million through crowdfunding.

The aim behind the Crowdfund Scotland initiative is to raise awareness and experience of crowdfunding as a means of alternative finance amongst businesses and community groups in rural areas. With a greater knowledge of how to finance local projects, rural areas have the opportunity through crowdfunding to develop their social infrastructure and economies in increasingly new and more sustainable ways.
