22/02/2021
to our lovely neighbour and partner The Tannahill Centre on winning The Surf Award for Community Led Regeneration.
The Surf Awards stated that The Tannahill Centre was an under-utilised centre which has reformed its role and become a trusted community hub, providing an enhanced portfolio of services, and better engaging with the local community.
Well deserved!

OSCR has updated guidance on Annual General Meetings during covid-19
Most charities will need to change the way they work during the outbreak. Decisions about how you can operate during this time need to be taken collectively by the charity trustees, where possible. Whilst decisions on the short term measures will need to be taken quickly, the impact on longer term operations also needs to be carefully considered.

Funder of the Week
This week it is the Charles Hayward Foundation.
The Charles Hayward Foundation is a grant-making charitable trust making awards to charities that are registered in the U.K. The organisation is governed by a board of voluntary trustees.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
The following information is intended to provide a general overview. After which, it is important that you refer to our funding categories for specific information and guidance. The Grant Committee meets quarterly; February, May, September & November. We value projects that are preventative and provide early intervention. We favour projects that respond to a well-researched and clear need, provide intervention based on evidence of what works, are able to demonstrate value for money and have a clear understanding of short-term effects and long-term impact of the intervention they propose.
GRANT PROGRAMMES
We run both a main and small grant programme, and currently make grants in the following categories:
Main grant programme (Registered Charities only)
Social & Criminal Justice and Heritage & Conservation (for charities with an income of more than £350,000) and Overseas (for charities with an income between £150,000 and £5,000,000).
Small grant programme ( Registered Charities only)
Social & Criminal Justice and Older People (for charities with an income of less than £350,000).

You may be aware that our Scottish Child Payment went live this week. Our teams are working through applications received and clients will start to receive decision letters and if eligible payments from the end of the month. Payments will be back dated to date of application for eligible clients. We would appreciate if you could continue to help spread the word on this brand new benefit to ensure everybody entitled to this applies.
The deadline is also fast approaching for applications to our Best Start Grant School Age Payment, if clients have a child born between 1 March 2015 and 29 February 2016 and are on a qualifying benefit then they need to make their application before applications close on 28th February, again we would appreciate any support in helping to get the message out to eligible clients re this.
