Engage Daily Update - 19 April
For this week’s staff recollection we’re turning to the management team and hearing from Karen McIntyre, who leads the CAVA team as the Community and Partnership Manager and Jacqueline Carroll, Head of Finance.
Both have lead their teams through challenging times and noted changes to their roles and the sector. Karen explains how the role differed from her initial expectations when she joined Engage in 2017.
Jacqueline is also proud of the development she has seen, though it is in a different strand of Engage’s work. Her greatest achievement over her time with Engage, its whole 10 years, has been the development of the Payroll Services.

Funder of the Week
Cattanach is a private charitable funder for early years work in Scotland. We welcome proposals for work that supports children and their families from pre-birth to three years old, who are affected by levels of relative deprivation.
We believe in working with the strengths that families and communities have to support their children (some call this an "asset-based model") and we want to see this reflected in the work we fund. To honour this commitment, we require all proposals to involve both children and their carers, whether parents, adopted or foster parents, or kinship carers.
Please ensure you meet the following criteria before making an application:
- You must be a charity registered in Scotland
- You must be working with young children (pre-birth to 3) and their parents/carers
- The main beneficiaries have a background of relative deprivation: this ranges from poverty to additional support needs to lack of opportunity due to lack of services
- Children and their carers have to be actively involved in the proposed activity or service
Upcoming Funding Round - Q3 2021
- We will be hosting Information Sessions on 01 June and 03 June.
- Register on our grants system, registrations will be processed from the 07 June.
- Book a call to discuss your proposal between the 14 June - 02 August.
- You must have a draft proposal submitted 7 working days before your call.
- The deadline for final proposal submissions is the 06 August.
- The board will meet on the 02 September to make final decisions.
