Free online training is available from The Scottish Drugs Forum for anyone working in communities who may need current knowledge around drugs and alcohol to support them in their work with children, young people, and adults.

This online training is interactive, and numbers are capped at 17. For some courses you will need to complete a short engaging eLearning module before you come along. This will set you up for learning on the day.

Renfrewshire Council is seeking to recruit office based Modern Apprentices. Our Modern Apprentices will be based in various Council establishments (depending on current vacancies) and will earn attractive salaries while working towards a Scottish Vocational Qualification at SCQF Level 6. Successful applicants will be provided with a positive opportunity to pursue permanent employment and a worthwhile career within this Local Authority.
What will I learn?
You will undertake an SVQ in Business Administration at SCQF Level 6 over a 12 month period and you will learn the skills required to work within an office environment including good communication skills, team working skills as well as the ability to work on your own initiative. You will be trained on any bespoke computer based systems and have the opportunity to work within an exciting, ever-changing environment.
What qualification or qualities are required?
You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement
You must have achieved a minimum of two Highers at grade C or above (or equivalent). Applications will also be accepted from applicants who have recently sat their exams and are waiting on the results. It is essential that modern apprentices have good interpersonal and communication skills. It is also desirable that they have the ability to work both as a team member and on their own initiative.
