Welcome to POP! News 29. This issue features a host of artistic events and workshops across Renfrewshire, with plenty of inspiration for summer activities. We are also featuring opportunities for funding, development and jobs from organisations such as Puppet Animation Scotland, Film Scotland and the Centre for Culture Sport and Events at UWS. Our next issue will be all about outdoor arts, so please send over any creative events or opportunities taking place outside by 16 July.

Renfrewshire's Volunteer Managers' Forum - 22 July 2021 This July session will be an opportunity for the forum to come together to explore issues and share best practice. We will also be able to discuss the future of the forum and potential for an in-person meeting following easing of restrictions. The session will be held via MS Teams. The next Citywide Locality Engagement Forum (LEF) session, hosted by South LEF, will be take place on the Wednesday 28 July 2021 between 3pm-4:30pm. This session will be focusing on Home Care Services historically known as Cordia.
Scops Arts Trust The goal of Scops Arts Trust is to give people of all ages a better quality of life by enabling them to understand, participate in and simply enjoy the arts, particularly music, drama, opera and dance. Their current interests lie in supporting organisations run by committed and passionate individuals to deliver projects that: - Widen access to the performing arts and have a lasting cultural impact on the community - Enhance the provision and quality of music education in schools and / or engage children and young people in music outside of school
Places Called Home Fund – short deadline
IKEA Limited and The National Lottery Community Fund have come together to grow thriving, resilient and sustainable communities across the UK. Places Called Home is a new £1.5 million fund that aims to inspire and help people get more involved in their local community as a positive, homely place to be and meet other people. The deadline for applications is 14 July or when they receive 1,500 applications - whatever comes first.
Funding to Build the Digital & Financial Skills of Disadvantaged People
The Santander Foundation has announced the launch of a new £1.8million fund to support UK charities and CICs working to build people’s digital and financial skills.
The Financial & Digital Empowerment Fund will award grants of up to £150,000 over a three-year period to twelve projects which help to equip disadvantaged people with the tools, knowledge and confidence to make better, informed decisions about money, and to help them achieve new opportunities for employment and education.
