Connecting Scotland – Fast Track Applications Now Open

The latest round of applications to support the most vulnerable and digitally excluded get online is now open as part of the Scottish Government’s Connecting Scotland programme.

The closing date is 5pm on Friday, 12 November 2021, however it may close early if devices are distributed before this date. 

Who can apply?
Voluntary and/or public sector organisations can apply for support for up to 10 devices
Social housing providers can apply for support for up to 100 devices

What support is available?
Digital devices – iPads and/or Chromebooks
Internet connectivity – a mobile WiFi hotspot with 24 months unlimited data
Training and support – for staff and volunteers to become ‘digital champions’ to support people to use the internet confidently and safely

You can apply using the relevant online application form on the Connecting Scotland website, where you will also find more information about the programme, as well as guidance and a set of frequently asked questions about the application process and the awards criteria.

Volunteer Leadership Learning Club with Engage Renfrewshire and the Open University
Want to learn about volunteer leadership in a supportive environment of your peers? Engage Renfrewshire and Open University’s Centre for Voluntary Leadership are pleased to launch the first Volunteer Leadership Learning Club in Scotland.
Join us next Monday, 11th October, at the Tannahill Centre. 

Open to volunteers, volunteer managers/coordinators and those in senior leadership roles from any size organisation.

PACE Community Open Day
Saturday 09 October 2021, 11am-3pm
PACE is re-developing a disused town centre building as a unique venue for children and young people, and aims to create a vibrant arts hub for use by all of the community. But we want to hear your ideas!

  • Come along to meet our team and see the space
  • Find out about our plans and how they could benefit you
  • Have your say about what you think a space like this can offer

Children/young people are welcome but please be aware that the building is still under construction. Access is currently via several stairs and there is uneven flooring.
Pop in anytime between 11am and 3pm



Grants to Enable Disabled People to Play Tennis (UK)

The Dan Maskell Tennis Trust has announced that the next closing date for applications is the 12th October 2021.
Individuals can apply for grants of up to £500 for support for sports wheelchairs, tennis rackets, coaching lessons with a Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) licensed coach or course fees for official LTA development/coaching courses. 
Groups can apply for a maximum of £1,500.

Groups can apply for: Wheelchairs; Court hire; Coaching fees; and equipment packages which will include:

  • Rackets
  • Balls
  • Mini net
  • Coaching aids such as cones and throw down marker lines.

In the case of wheelchairs, a deposit will be required; for individuals, the amount of deposit required will depend on the wheelchair type requested, clubs will need to raise a deposit of £200.
