Investing in Communities Fund

Scottish Government are continuing to develop the Empowering Communities Programme by further progressing the Investing in Communities Fund.
The fund is looking to support vulnerable communities to tackle poverty in whatever way necessary.
It highlights four areas for action within the fund priorities:

  • Tackling Poverty & Inequality, including Child Poverty
  • Developing and Sustaining Place Based Approaches
  • Community-led Regeneration
  • Ensuring a just transition to Net Zero

For those interested in the fund, or unsure but wanting more information, there is an information session on Wednesday 08 of December at 2pm – 3pm (online).

This session will give further details and timescale clarification for the next round (ICF Round 2: 2023-2026) which is due to be open from the end of March 2022, along with outlining the criteria for eligibility and application.

Mental Health Transition and Recovery Plan

In its Mental Health Transition and Recovery Plan, the Scottish Government has committed to working closely with stakeholders, including trade unions and employer groups, to promote mentally flourishing workplaces where mental well-being is meaningfully discussed, promoted and supported, and where stigma and discrimination are addressed.
 
SAMH has been working with key partners through the Employment and Mental Health Short Life Working Group to get a sense of what challenges and barriers employers may be facing when supporting the mental well-being of their workforce, and to capture existing promising practice that could help and/or inspire others to take action. With this in mind, we would be most grateful if you would consider responding to the following survey by cop 6 December 2021:

We are also keen to hear from a diverse group of people, including from those that may have been struggling with poor mental health for a short while or that experience mental illness. We would be most grateful if you could promote the following survey across your workforce, with a deadline for responses of cop 6 December 2021.

The information you and your workforce provide will help strengthen existing knowledge around what works to support mental well-being in the workplace in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, and allow us to develop an in-depth understanding of current issues.  Furthermore, the information provided will be used to produce advice, guidance and resources for employers in Scotland as we recover from the impact of Covid-19.
