Black History Month - CULTURAL WEBINAR
28/10/2020
3.00pm - 4.30pm
CULTURAL WEBINAR 28/10 at 15:00 – 16:30
The Our Culture, Our Future webinar will explore the black, Asian, minority ethnic experience of culture in Scotland with a focus on Renfrewshire. As creative practitioners, what can we do to ensure the ethnic diversity in our schools and neighbourhoods is reflected in the audiences, participants, workforce and boards of our cultural providers? How can more black, Asian minority young people be encouraged to choose the arts as a career and what challenges need to be overcome? A panel of diverse voices will give the national picture, share lived experience and offer guidance and insight into how the arts and culture can be more inclusive, representative and enriched.
This webinar is for anyone working in the arts and culture at any level but may also be useful for youth workers, teachers and students in creative disciplines.
Join in the conversation and hear from Panel Chair, Chigozie Joe Adigwe, New Buddies Officer – Engage Renfrewshire and panel members; Dr Christian Harrison, Programme Leader of the MSc Leadership and Management in the University of the West of Scotland; Milica Milosevic, Head of Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion at Creative Scotland and artist Matt Hickman the lead singer/songwriter of four piece indie-rock outfit Brownbear.
